When I was in elementary school and junior high school I saw many things on the news and in the media about AIDS. Today, AIDS does not seem like much of an issue. Although I am petrified of the disease, AIDS does not have much of an affect on the way I live my life.
Although AIDS is a continuing problem, I hardly think about it unless someone brings it up in discussion. ... The problem with AIDS in my hometown is confined to a certain group of people with the majority living in the same location (as far as I know). Honestly, I have always felt like I would never get AIDS. ... To me, AIDS seems like something that happens to other people.
