During this time (1991-1995) the Serb government took over all government, civil and professional jobs in Kosovo. ... Unrest amongst Albanians grew over time and erupted into a war with Serbia (1997-1999).
The Albanians, who were the majority, were being systematically eliminated by the Serb armed forces during the war.
