The play Macbeth was written by William Shakespeare in 1606-1607. Macbeth is about a nobleman of Scotland (Macbeth) and the struggle within Macbeth between his ambition and his sense of right and wrong. ... When Macbeth and Lady Macbeth conversed about manhood, death usually follows.
In act I, scene v, Lady Macbeth received a letter from Macbeth announcing his title of Thane of Cawdor and talked about his meeting with the witches. Lady Macbeth questioned his masculinity, in which she thought he is too full of "thmilk of human kindness" (I, v, 15) to take the steps necessary to make himself king. Lady Macbeth manipulated her husband by questioning his manhood, wishing that she be "unsexed" (I, v, 41), she pleaded to put her natural femininity aside so that she can do the bloody deeds necessary to seize the crown.
